BRIEF AND INSPIRATIONS WHIMSICAL ARTISTS

Pierre Cardin and Schiaparelli inspiration - Sea & Fashion

For a brunch hosted by Shangri-La Paris, we were tasked with creating Whimsical-themed entertainment, inspired by the "Find Your Shangri-La" video campaign. RêvARTe conceptualized and crafted four unique tableaux featuring diverse artists.

Taking inspiration from the campaign's flower elements, we designed two groups of floral women, exploring two creative directions: flower trains evoking enchanted gardens, and oversized petals serving as decorative accessories (01-02). Additionally, we honored the festive ambiance of Shangri-La's historic lounges with a "festive tribe" adorned in chic black and gold attire, accompanied by balloons drifting skyward to capture the theme's whimsy (03). Lastly, we created a bird character, echoing the video's "Find your Shangri-La" main character, for the suite overlooking the Eiffel Tower, playing with feathers and vibrant bird-like colors (04).

FROM THE IDEA TO REALITY

Designing the whimsy

Illustration costume design flower girls by Rêvarte

To welcome guests, we imagined floral-themed dancers reminiscent of the colorful flower gardens in the "Find your Shangri-La" video.

To achieve this, we worked with our design teams to create two models. The first is a silhouette whose main elements are a train adorned with hundreds of flowers and a giant flower as an accessory. The second is a more slender silhouette, with a fan like a giant petal as its centerpiece.

Savoir-faire

Creating Flower Girls silhouettes required countless hours meticulously sewing flowers onto each costume piece. Additionally, crafting fans reaching over 2 meters in height, supple as bamboo, demanded a unique skillset, utilizing hand-dyed mousseline in vibrant

shades of yellow and pink.

For the Festive Tribe, we drew on our expertise in the world of cabaret to create a backpack, also known as a "Gabrielle", replacing the traditional feathers with helium balloons. The ephemeral nature of this costume makes the exercise all the more complex, since no mistakes are allowed on the day of the event.

We designed elegant silhouettes in black and gold. The idea was to incite the dancers' movement by incorporating balloons into their costumes, reminiscent of the balloons escaping from the piano in the "Find your Shangri-La" video. In this way, we achieved a striking visual effect and allowed our dancers to play with their gravity-defying accessories.

For the Shangri-La suite, the event culminates with a bird character, designed to reflect the iridescent plumage and vibrant hues of the hummingbird, the main character in the "Find Your Shangri-La" video.

For this costume, many hours of featherwork were required, as each feather is individually treated and then hand-assembled to achieve a result worthy of the French savoir-faire well known to our teams.

DID YOU KNOW....

Each costume is strassed with hand-laid crystal stones in over 15 different colors, to reflect the chimeric tones of this tableau's inspirational video.

Over 2,000 rhinestones were needed for these costumes!

MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT

To set the mood for the different areas of the event, we recommended and set up two different musical atmospheres with two versatile DJs.

In the historic lounges, during the brunch, we offered a lounge-chic DJ set in keeping with the relaxed, classy ambience we were aiming for, and dressed our DJ in an all-gold gown to include her with the Festive Tribe dancers.

SHOWTIME!

After several hours of preparation with a team of 8 people (including makeup artists, hairdressers, dressers, show managers, etc.) our 9 artists were able to dazzle guests and evoke the theme of the event with flair thanks to their presence and immersive performances! It was a pleasure for us to be able to bring our ideas to life thanks to the collaboration of all these behind-the-scenes talents and the artists.
